Raging Bacteria

Most people tend to want to kill all the bacteria in their homes. This however is not as good to do as it seems.

There are several reasons to avoid grabbing those antibacterial soaps and body washes when hitting the stores. The biggest in my opinion is they don't kill everything. They say so right on the bottle. Kills 99% of bacteria.

What about the other 1%?

Most people know that bacteria dont reproduce the same way animals do. They only need one single cell to make millions more. And what do you think is going to happen if that 1% that is resistant to antibacterial agents now has all the room to grow because you killed off the competition?

Now you end up with bacteria everywhere that are resistant. FDA has instated a ban to severely limit the number of these types of soaps you can find on the market.

Not to mention the fact that it doesn't work on viruses which are the causes of most common sicknesses like the cold and flu.

According to the FDA not only can using these soaps cause problems with the bacteria at home but they can also have effects on how the bacteria in your body are eliminated with prescription antibiotics and the chemicals used in these soaps may cause hormonal issues but this is still being researched.

If your worried about bacteria and viruses in your home I would suggest getting everyone in the home, especially the kids, washing their hands more often (with regular hand soap, I use Aloe Vera) and be sure to include door knobs and facet handles in your regular cleaning schedule. Helpless Parenting

When your a parent all you want to do is protect your children and allow them to grow up well. That is not always the case.
My son recently broke his arm at school falling off the monkey bars and my daughter is currently sick with the flu.
There are just always going to be times in our kids lives when we cant protect them from everything in the world. My kids are still young enough being under the age of 10 that they still look to the parents around them thinking they always have the right answer to their questions.
They still have what I call the veil. The veil is the knowledge that children have that grown ups are different than they are because they feel like when you "grown up" something changes basically overnight and suddenly you understand the world.
Well we all know that is not the case. When the veil is lifted is different for everyone and it happens at different ages.
For some it is when they have their first child or lose their first job or realize you don't make enough money to support yourself. It happens in  moment. You look around at your life thinking "what happened I thought this would be easier and you realize that there is no switch that happens and "grown ups" dont know everything; they are just trying to figure things out as they go too.
That is when our veil is lifted and we are thrown for a loop as the world is thrown at us all at once.
As a parent my goal is to keep my children's veil in place till the right time when they are old enough to understand the world around them and more importantly mature enough to figure out how to be part of it.

DIY is the new fad!

Do-It-Yourself or DIY projects are all the rage all of a sudden. Sites like Pinterest and Etsy are amazing for finding new and amazing things to try next or purchase ready made 1 of a kind items.

I myself love diving into new projects. Not only are they fun for me but they give me a great bonding experience with my children. Most projects don't take too much money or time to do but the memory of doing the thing definitely lasts in their minds. This project also come with much more pride than picking out a new picture off the shelf.
My kids get to feel the joy in knowing that they helped to decorate the house and they love to point out our projects to family and friends when they come to visit.

I will be including several projects going forward. I will also include links to some of my favorite project by others which I haven't yet tried.

Blogging to Make Money From Home

Starting your your business can be very daunting but a challenge which Internet marketing has made much easier.
Companies like Amazon and cj affiliate have programs which aid in your dreams of working for yourself.
I have a young child who I don't want to leave everyday to go spend time at a corporate job. I am just now starting to incorporate on-line marketing through social media, website building and blogging into my daily routine.

I have the ultimate goal of not having to put the responsibility of raising my child into someone elses hands so I can leave to work everyday to go out and make only enough money to get by. I want to help my family thrive while still being part of it.Becoming a SAHM (stay at home mom) is a goal a lot of you are also having.
I have looked into different on-line money making schemes like doing surveys or mystery shopper jobs. These could make me some pocket change here and there but nothing substantial enough to allow my family to thrive. I want to make a comfortable living from the comfort of my own home.
I have started listening to podcasts and looking up other success stories to see how so many are making millions with their blogs. I will be implementing the strategies I have learned. I will post an update after I get some results. Who wouldn't want to stay home to take care of this little one!

Update: I found myself in a money struggle last year and took on a second job. My financial stress has relaxed a bit so I am back to blogging. Be sure to watch out for current goals and updates.

SHARKS

Everytime shark week rolls around I am sure to grab my remote to set my DVR to record all the new releases.
Sharks are very intriguing animals due to being mysterious, so large and potentially dangerous. Even in local aquariums you rarely will seethe giants like great white sharks.
In the United States white sharks are protected, however these strange creatures are still killed both legally and illegally elsewhere.
Sharks are a vital part of the ecosystem and when their populations are depleted strange things start to happen.
For example in one area the sharks are being poached to the point of these negative effects. The sharks kept the local fish populations down and with out them there is a rapid increase in these populations. The Humboldt squid happens to have a favorite among these boosted populations.
Now the area has a problem with the "red devilfish" taking fishermen and divers never to be seen again.
We need to learn how to survive along with these majestic species instead of against them.

Animal Abusers Should be Punished

Everyone has seen the sad commercials asking audiences to help animals in need. The sad songs along with the images of cats and dogs who have been abused should make people question humanity. It is a sad thing that everyday animals of all kinds are put through torturous situations through which no human would come out of with complete sanity.
Animals of all kinds from companion animals like cats and dogs to farm animals and even wild animals are effected by humanity's  cruelty. Violence to animals is usually a companion to violence to other people and especially on children yet violators are often ignored by authorities. Even those people who are persecuted are often given minimum fines and only misdemeanor charges.
This is unacceptable! People don't need to be animal lovers or tree huggers for the images included in this blog to be upsetting. People who don't believe that shooting a cat with an arrow or beating a dog with a spiked object is something to worry about should not be part of our society. Getting in a car accident while intoxicated usually results in a felony and the loss of ability to vote while these people get small fines and are still able to help the country choose its next president.
Creatures big and small deserve our respect and should be be appreciated. Animals give humans love and companionship, entertainment, knowledge, and cruelty should be given more prevalence in  today's society. Laws should be changed. Under current laws animals are considered property instead of being classified under there own category which should be neither human or property. Violent crimes such as murder or assault don't apply to animals because of this.
Violence...any violence should be considered dangerous in our society. No matter what your views about having animals is, any sane person can see the danger to both animals and humans in any type of violence. It must be stopped and only we can make it happen.

Review of the Fallout Series of Games by Bethesda

RPG games have come a long way. When speaking of post apocalyptic titles the Fallout series excels above all others. This series takes place in a world trying to survive and recover from humanities past nuclear war which left the world ridden with all levels of radiation which has left its effect on everything from water to the creatures found around the world.

They take an interesting view on throwing these large level worlds into the presents of the different dwellers. There are mutants both friendly and will shoot on site, some so large they tower over the character. There are mutant rats and crabs lurking everywhere along with many other creatures.

The people of these world can't remember a time without radiation poisoning being a common ailment. They use Nuka-Cola Caps as currency, Worship a live nuclear bomb, Built cities over a wide variety of terrains, and cling to life with guns, meds and each other.

With a go where you want when you want type of game-play there is a different story for each play-through and each individual gamer.
The newest arrival in the series is the 4th and several new interactions have been implemented. You are now able to literally build the cities yourself and assign the community with in it different tasks. Not to mention a brand new vault and weapon/armor mods.
